Steve’s practice focuses on civil litigation in the area of personal injury defense, medical and hospital malpractice defense, bad faith actions against insurance companies, employment law, including the defense of wrongful termination actions, and civil rights cases in state and federal courts in Wyoming. Steve also has an extensive practice representing employers in employment matters such as ADEA discrimination and ADA disputes, OSHA and DEQ enforcement actions, and workers’ compensation cases.
Steve has handled appeals to the Wyoming Supreme Court and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Steve’s reported cases include: Adams v. PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:
Steve was the Comment Editor for the Land and Water Law Review at the University of Wyoming College of Law from 1984 to 1985. Steve served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, United States Navy, as a prosecutor, defense counsel and international law attorney from 1985 to 1989. From 1989 to 1990 he was Energy and Natural Resources Legislative Assistant to United States Senator Malcolm Wallop in Washington, D.C.
Steve was a member of the Wyoming Civil Pattern Jury Instruction Committee from 2001 to 2005. He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and a Fellow and State Chair of the Council on Litigation Management.
Steve served on the Board of Directors of Seton House from 1990 to 1999, and on the Board of Directors of the Nicolaysen Art Museum from 1999 to 2005, serving terms as President of both charitable organizations.
Steve has been the Grievance Committee Chair, Wyoming Tennis Association, since 2005 and the Grievance Committee Chair, Intermountain Tennis Association, since 2009. He has been a member of the Casper American Legion Baseball Board of Directors since 2009.
Steve enjoys playing tennis and basketball all year around, and snow skiing in the winter.
