LEGAL PRACTICE:

Stuart is a shareholder in the firm and has been involved in a broad spectrum of civil litigation. Stuart’s commercial litigation practice has been concentrated in breach of contract and commercial tort claims. Stuart’s products liability practice has involved claims associated with injuries and death caused by industrial equipment and consumer products. Stuart has appeared in litigation involving premises liability, automobile and truck accident claims and work related injuries and deaths associated with the oil and gas industry. He has represented clients in a variety of employment and civil rights litigation, including school boards, municipalities and county governmental agencies. Stuart has also represented electric utilities in a variety of personal injury and administrative actions. Stuart has appeared regularly before Wyoming State regulatory and administrative agencies

Stuart’s reported cases in the Wyoming Supreme Court include Ogle v. Caterpillar Tractor Co., 716 P.2d 334 (Wyo. 1986), Eisenbarth v. Hartford Fire Ins. Co., 840 P.2d 945 (Wyo. 1992), FDIC v. Northwestern Mut. Life Ins. Co., No. 88-210, Supreme Court of Wyoming, 765 P.2d 937 (Wyo. 1988), Kroenlein v. Eddington, 35 P.3d 1207 (Wyo. 2001) and City of Powell v. Busboom, 44 P.3d 63 (Wyo. 2002). Stuart’s cases reported in the United States District Courts and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals include Hirsch v. Copenhaver, 1995 U.S. App. LEXIS 2252, E.F.W. v. St. Stephen’s Indian High Sch., 264 F.3d 1297 (10th Cir. Wyo. 2001), Van Winkle v. Wyoming, 21 Fed. Appx. 857, 2001 U.S. App. LEXIS 23647 (10th Cir. Wyo. 2001) and X by Y v. Fremont County Sch. Dist. No. 25, 1998 U.S. App. LEXIS 24587.

PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:

Stuart has held offices in various professional organizations including serving as President of the Natrona County Bar Association, Chairman of the Wyoming State Bar Association Board of Continuing Legal Education and the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. He is actively involved in community and charitable organizations including the United Way, the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce and the Casper Youth Soccer League.
